The Role

Norfolk County FA are looking to recruit an Independent Non-Executive Director (Legal) to join their Board of Directors.

 

Norfolk County FA is the not-for-profit Governing Body of football in Norfolk. Founded in 1881, they govern, regulate and develop grassroots football across the county, operating under the umbrella of The FA.

From their County Headquarters in Norwich, they oversee the local game and operate two Football Development Centres, The FDC and The FDC Open, which offer great value pitch hire and a range of services to grassroots clubs and the wider community.

Norfolk County FA are proud to be a forward-thinking Association, with the development of Norfolk Football at the heart of everything they do.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join their Board, helping the organisation drive forward their vision and ambitions. The Board of Directors is responsible for managing the business affairs of the Association, determining the strategy, plans, policies and financial investment required to achieve its aims.

 

Independent Non-Executive Legal Director

Key responsibilities:

  • To be an active Board Member, providing strategic oversight and to constructively challenge and review the Norfolk County Football Association strategic plan.
  • To provide strategic leadership, guidance and advice to Norfolk County Football Association on legal matters.
  • To retain constant awareness of Norfolk County Football Association's legal position and act to prevent any potential problems.
  • To oversee the legal planning of Norfolk County Football Association by supporting the analysis of performance and risks.
  • To ensure compliance with regulations, statutes and guidelines.
  • To provide support to, and act as a sounding board for, the CEO on legal matters.
  • Instruct, oversee and liaise with external lawyers where appropriate.
  • To support the Association in maintaining the Safeguarding 365 standard for County FAs.
