The FA are excited to be searching for a Women's Performance Lifestyle Coordinator, who will be responsible for the effective execution and implementation of the FA's Performance Lifestyle Strategy, ensuring alignment with the overarching objectives for England Women's Teams.

 

This newly established role is pivotal in coordinating holistic support for England players, promoting their personal and professional development alongside their football careers as they progress through and beyond our England Women's Teams.

 

This is a part-time role on a 6-month fixed-term contract. The hours are flexible, and although the contractual location is St. George's Park, we offer a hybrid policy to accommodate the successful candidate.

 

What will you be doing?

  • Drive the strategic implementation of the FA's Performance Lifestyle Strategy, ensuring alignment with the overarching objectives for England Women's Teams.
  • Design, coordinate, and oversee the delivery of age-appropriate performance lifestyle support and resources tailored to the specific needs of England Women's Teams.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key external stakeholders, including Women's Professional Leagues Limited (WPLL), Women's Professional Game Academies (PGA), the Professional Footballers' Association (PFA), and other organisations specialising in financial education, career development, athlete transitions and wellbeing.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to implement a performance lifestyle delivery plan and create a continuing professional development (CPD) programme to enhance the skills of staff working across England Women's Teams.
  • Design and develop a personalised development plan tool to support players, offering tailored strategies that promote their ongoing personal and professional growth during their time with England and prepare them for future transitions.
  • Facilitate the coordination and delivery of a comprehensive parent education programme, empowering parents with the knowledge and skills to effectively support their child through key playing transitions.
  • Collaborate with the FA Women's Player Education & Lifestyle Lead and the Women's Psychosocial Department to hold regular case conferences, informing the planning of tailored and holistic support for high-potential players.
  • Prioritise player welfare by adhering to the FA's safeguarding policies, ensuring all support promotes a safe, impartial, and confidential environment for players while providing access to mental health and well-being resources.
  • Drive measurable outcomes including; increasing player engagement with personal and professional development, building impactful external partnerships, and promoting informed parental involvement.
  • Work collaboratively with the FA Women's Technical Team to support the successful implementation of the Women's Technical Strategy.
  • Attend departmental meetings and collaborate with internal teams to ensure alignment and consistency in delivery across all England Women's Teams.
  • Executes additional tasks as required to meet the FA's changing priorities.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures to ensure the highest standards of health, safety, and well-being can be maintained.

What are we looking for?

 

Essential for the role:

  • A degree (or equivalent qualification) in sports management, sports science, or a related field focused on managing and developing high-performing individuals.
  • Demonstrate practical experience in supporting high-performing athletes with their personal development within a team or organisational setting.
  • Possess a solid understanding of athlete transitions at the elite level.
  • Showcase a track record of successfully delivering lifestyle coaching to talented and elite-level athletes.
  • Experience in planning, facilitating and delivering workshops or life skills programmes tailored to both individual and group needs within a sports context.
  • Exhibit effective written communication and oral presentation skills.
  • Proficient in establishing and maintaining positive relationships with individuals while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Ability to adapt and work flexibly to meet the needs of the organisation.
  • Demonstrate excellent networking abilities.
  • Competent in securely managing personal data.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

 

Beneficial to have:

  • A professional coaching and mentoring qualification (equivalent to Level 7) and/or individual accreditation (e.g., EMCC or ICF).
  • Level 3 Certificate in Athlete Personal Development and Lifestyle.
  • Proven success in designing and implementing life skills programmes within a sports context.
  • Have an appreciation of current and future developments within women's football.
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
  • Proven ability to deliver engaging presentations, including online sessions.
  • Evidence of ongoing personal development.
  • Completion of the FA Safeguarding Children Course or equivalent sports-related training.

We currently work within a hybrid working model whereby the expectation is to work from your contractual location for part of the week, and as and when required by the team. The remaining days can be worked remotely. We will continue to monitor this model, and it may be adjusted in future if deemed necessary.

Your contract with The FA will specify a fixed location of Wembley Stadium or St. George’s Park unless the role is advertised as a homebased contract. The contractual location of this role can be found at the top of this advert on our FA vacancy page.

THE PROCESS

We believe that assessment and selection should be robust, fair, and inclusive.

Following receipt of your application and the closing of the application process, you can expect a period of circa two weeks for us to thoroughly screen and shortlist, ahead of any next stage and interview.
