The Role

Royal Air Force Football Association - Independent Non-Executive Director

 

Role Type: Volunteer

 

The Royal Air Force Football Association (RAF FA) is seeking to recruit an Independent Non-Executive Director to the Board of Trustees. The successful candidate will provide independent expert guidance and support to the RAF FA as it aims to deliver its Strategy and Vision.

 

The position reports directly to the RAF FA Chair and is selected by representatives of the RAF FA Board of Directors.

 

The primary responsibilities of the role are:

 

  • Sit as an independent advisor to the RAF FA Board of Trustees.
  • Support the RAF FA Chair in the delivery of football.
  • Provide guidance and oversight in support of the Chair, who acts as the Responsible Person for the RAF FA and owns the Association Safety Management Plan.
  • Identify and help develop relationships with key partners (including sponsors) to meet the objectives and targets of the RAF FA.
  • Help support the delivery of the Association's 4-year strategy, annual operational plan and FA KPIs.
  • Be an active member of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee, helping to develop associated polices and take the necessary decisions.

 

Experience in football or another sport would be desirable as would some experience of the workings of a Board. Candidates should also have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and should be prepared to attend Board of Trustee Meetings and engage with Board members to advise as required.
