The Role

Facility Development Lead – Leicestershire & Rutland County FA

Salary: Starting from £29,000 per annum
Contract: Permanent, 35 hours per week (some evening and weekend work required)
Location: Holmes Park, Dog and Gun Lane, Whetstone, LE8 6FA

Leicestershire & Rutland County FA is offering an exciting opportunity for an individual to join their team as a Facility Development Lead.

This full-time permanent role will be instrumental in advancing the strategic development of football facilities across Leicestershire and Rutland. The successful candidate will help improve pitch quality, protect existing sites, and lead priority projects that support the grassroots game.

About the Role

The Facility Development Lead will play a key role in shaping the future of grassroots football facilities across Leicestershire and Rutland. Responsibilities include:

  • Driving improvements in grass pitch quality through the Grass Pitch Maintenance Programme
  • Activating priority projects identified in Local Football Facility Plans to unlock Football Foundation investment
  • Safeguarding existing football sites from planning threats and supporting local Playing Pitch Strategies
  • Leading the development of Holmes Park as a flagship site for football in the county
  • Collaborating with clubs, leagues, schools, and local authorities to build sustainable and inclusive facilities

Their work will directly impact opportunities for thousands of players, coaches, and volunteers, ensuring football is accessible, inclusive, and thriving in every community.

  • A minimum of two years' experience in sports development
