The Role

Support Designated Safeguarding Officer

Durham County FA is seeking a dynamic and self-motivated individual to join their team as a Support Designated Safeguarding Officer. This full-time role (35 hours per week) is based at their offices in Chester-le-Street and offers a salary of £26,000–£29,000 plus benefits including 22 days holiday, company pension, Nike kit, and healthcare plan.

The successful candidate will support the Designated Safeguarding Officer in implementing The FA's Safeguarding 365 Standard, investigating safeguarding concerns, managing DBS processes, and promoting safer practice across grassroots football. You will also chair the Incident Review Group and work closely with local safeguarding stakeholders to ensure compliance with legislation and FA policies.

Applicants should have a safeguarding qualification and/or relevant experience in child protection or welfare roles, strong communication and organisational skills, and knowledge of safeguarding legislation. Experience in handling sensitive information and promoting safe environments is essential.
