Vacancy | Referee Development Assistant
Location: This is a hybrid role with opportunities to work remotely from the Berks & Bucks FA office (Milton Park, OX14 4SB), home and around the County.
Salary: Band 5 (£22,200-£26,767) per annum, dependent on experience.
Hours: 35 hours per week. (Requirement to work evenings and weekends, in line with the demands of the role).
Contract: Full Time- Fixed Term Contract (Expiring June 2028).
The Opportunity
If you are passionate about grassroots sport and the pivotal role it plays in getting people active and healthy then we have a fantastic opportunity for you. This role is to assist the Referee Development Officer with the recruitment, conversion and progression of Referees in order to effectively develop and deliver grassroots football.
We know that football has the power to 'Connect People & Change Lives' and this is why Berks & Bucks FA are looking to recruit a passionate and energetic individual to join the Workforce Team. The successful individual will work alongside the Referee Development Officer to ensure that every individual who attends a Referee Course receives support to enable them to become a qualified referee.

About the Role
• Implement strategies for new referees, to convert them from trainee referees to active referees
• Ensure mentoring opportunities are available and accessible to all trainee referees
• Assist the delivery of referee retention strategies
•Support administration of the annual Progression pathway

• Knowledge of the structure and partner organisations within football, nationally and within the County FA locality
• Ability to communicate effectively and in a timely manner appropriate to the audience
• Creative problem solving and decision-making skills
You'll really impress us if...
• You have skills in creating, delivering & maintaining pathways which support the growth, transition and retention of referees
• You have experience of organisation of events and/or programme delivery
